~ Meatloaf with gravy, whole grain rice and toss salad ~


For this meal I used:

2 lbs of hamburger

How to season the hamburger:

In a larger prep bowl combine

2 lbs hamburger

 1/2 tsp each salt and pepper

1Tbl spoon onion powder

1/2 cup seasoned bread crumbs

6 slices of bread crumbled (you can used left over buns)

4 eggs

1/2 cup milk

1/4 cup beef broth

mix well with hands and form loaf

place in baking dish

preheat oven 350  bake about  1 hour covered

then uncover top with gravy or tomato paste

bake about 15 minutes to brown top

( for our family I do half and half )

for this dish I topped the meatloaf with beef gravy, served with whole grain rice and a toss salad

We tried out the bacon ranch dressing and it was delicious!

The Gravy ~

what I do is put 6  beef bouillon cubes in water to make broth

mix 5Tbl spoons of flour with milk in a measuring cup

add to broth and cook on med heat stirring until thickened

then remove from heat
